To remedy this situation it was necessary (in 1994) to retrospectively de-register the original 1st Berowra Scout Group on 24 August 1981 and to register both 1st Berowra Turi Troop and 1st Berowra Kai Kai Troop that same day. This accurately reflects events since two new Troops were in fact formed on 24 August 1981 from the Scouts of the original very large Troop
