Kai Kai Troop was formed on 24 August 1981. It came to light whilst writing this history that NSW Branch had no record of Kai Kai ever having been registered.[1]

One of Eugene Duff's worst memories of Scouting was the Sunday morning (11 November 1984) about sun up when a Scout (Andrew Hodgkinson) fell about 15 metres onto rocks at Pindar caves (near Wondabyne). What was supposed to be a quiet camp ended up involving two helicopters and a spot on national television.
